Two Year Delay in Building New KHs - What Is the Real Impact?
by committeechairman inwhere are all these kingdom halls that were going to start being built?
the rbc arrangement was officially announced as an arrangement that was ending in the united states branch territory in a letter on january 24, 2014 (although this letter is no longer listed on jw.org).
this means that 23 months have passed since the announcement of the ldc taking over and "acceleration" of kingdom hall builds.. what has happened in the meantime with kh construction?

Now the infamous picture of JW's conducting meetings in basements, published about a year ago, makes more sense. It was not fear mongering, it was part of the "grand plan", or whatever they call it now. -

Is this the earliest WT reference to 1975?
by Splash ini thought that the 1975 thing started in the mid to late 60's, but it seems the seeds were sown two decades earlier.is this the earliest reference to it?.
18 how many today are awake to the fact that the lord christ jesus, by his resurrection of the faithful bride members that slept in death, is taking his "bride" unto his father's house and the marriage of the lamb has begun' .... they do not say, 'it is a long time yet to the wind-up, and, according to the present understanding of bible chronology, six thousand years of human history will end first in the coming seventies and till then it is a long stretch to serve the lord continuously and undividedly.'.
... they keep their eye and heart on jehovah's kingdom, and not on the time clock.

The Elders are Coming Help!
by LaurenM inso the elders keep bugging me and pestering me about having a meeting with them to "introduce me to my new congregation" for some reason (do any ex elders know what that even means??).
i keep postponing and making excuses and they are getting more and more aggressive.
i finally agreed for them to come over today, but really don't want to..should i hide from them again?

I second Stan too. Ask for money. That puts people on the run better than anything else. -

Yes, you are more likely to be killed by a Christian nut than by a Muslim nut. However, the Christian nut targets the enemy only (let's say abortion doctors). Muslim religious nuts target the enemy only too (the 78 % of the world population who is not a Muslim). I think there's a difference there.
Also the U.S. government goes to great lengths to keep Muslims nuts from entering the country, but they can't do a thing about Christian nuts because they were born here. That's a fact that should not be ignored when comparing the violent trends of the two religious groups.
Also, making comparisons in absolute numbers is misleading. Christians in the U.S. far outnumber Muslims. Whites also far outnumber blacks. Consider using percentages of respective groups. That will give us a better picture.
I am not here to defend Christianity, which I dislike almost as much as Islam. I just want accuracy... and let the chips fall where they may

You are better off searching for the woman of your dreams elsewhere. Half of your girlfriend, the part you know, meets the criteria of the "girl of your dreams"; the other half meets the criteria of "your worst nightmare". Don't settle for half good, especially when the other half is so bad. -

CEDARS (Again) Is it really about religious beliefs?
by Listener injohn cedars has posted his latest blog "the trouble with apostates (and why it shouldn't put you off becoming one)".
i acknowledge that he is entitled to his opionin just as we are ours but i am disappointed in some of his comments.. at this stage i'll try to be objective about it.
he is defending his own position after all.. what bothers me most is his comments about athiests and christians which he seems to identify as being in conflict with each other.

In my opinion, that was the worst that Cedars has ever written (that I know of). It was long, rambling, peevish, unnecessary. I am still baffled by what motivated Cedars to write a piece concerning Mike and Kim ... pleeease.
